Red Bull Fighters Motor cross

We had a blast at the Red Bull motor cross event in Fort Worth last weekend. Plenty of pictures to prove it! We went and toured one of Andrew's suppliers before we went - Rahr Brewing in FW. Nothing like free beer! I cant wait for Sept - we are all going to the drag races with JJ & Mandy (Kenzie's parents). It will be good times.

Dad and Sister are off to Six Flags today. I just got home from work. :( I'm about to go get Bro and I think we are cooking out at Lyn's tonight.
Everyone is doing great. Brother is getting big fast. He is already rolling over to his stomach but we still haven't mastered the stomach to back. And I have to say... my kids are so darn cute!! Britt has been going to daycare this summer and booking her social calendar likes its no one's business! Crazy kids...

Well, Bro has done better than Dad's last post. I think we determined he might be allergic to carrots. But he sure does love bananas! It has gotten pretty good at eating off the spoon.

Sister had her 2nd grade graduation today. She received the Sunshine Award, honor roll, and a reading certificate. They all walked across the stage and received their awards. My camera didn't like the lighting in the cafeteria but I did manage to get some good pictures in the hall after.

We are all doing well. Britt is going to the IRL races this weekend with her dad. And next weekend she is staying the night the Cami and going to the water park. Jason and I are going to go to the Red Bull Fighters motor cross in FW that weekend. (Hope Grandma will watch Brother!) And then the weekend after that we are all going to Monahans to see Jason's grandparents. So it looks like we are going to be pretty busy the next few weeks going into summer. I am just looking forward to the pool opening. It is so dang hot!!!

Oh and did I mention that we have cheerleading registration in July for the Lewisville Football League? I think we are going to take her out of Excite! while she is doing the fall cheer with LFA. I don't think we can manage both at the same time. She is really looking forward to being on the squad. Kenzie and her are going to be doing it together.

That's all for now. Talk to you soon!

He's a Chip Off the Old Block

...which in this case is not a good thing. You see, last night Carrie introduced Aston to carrots and he was not very happy that they had met. He made some awful faces. Some of which I'm sure reminded Carrie and Brittney both of faces that I have made when occassionaly trying to eat a vegetable. Considering the grief that my brother and I gave our parents with vegetables growing up I think its kind of funny.
But, this just won't do. He needs to eat vegetables, just like I need to eat vegetables. So - we're going to keep giving them to him whether he likes it or not and I'm going to eat them too. I'll just have to approach it the same way I approached developing a taste for wine...just keep forcing it down and eventually you'll stop making faces! Lord help me.

FOOD!!!

Brother went to the Dr. today for his 4 month check up. He now weighs 14.2 pounds and is 25.5 inches long. The doctor has calculated (with her special formula) that Brother will be approximately 6 foot tall when he is an adult. She also said he looks great; growing good, moving good, etc. She did say that he is ready for food. We have been giving him oatmeal in his bottle for the last week or so but she frowned on that saying he could choke. So we now will be feeding him from a spoon that he is still learning to use. But I do have to say, he likes seefood! As soon as he has the spoon down she said we can move onto fruits and veggies.
And did I mention that Brother has a super hero name? Meet the Droolanator. He has a cape and all!
And I have added his for faux hawk picture too for your enjoyment.
I think that is about all we have going on.
Brittney is looking forward to church camp. She still has a balance due that we are working on. The garage sale came out pretty good. I think we made about $130 in 2.5 hours. Not to shabby.
Gotta go - Brother isn't feeling too hot after the 4 shots he got today so he is being a little fussy. I think Dad has had enough.

Bath time!

Brother took a bath in the real bath tub today. He is officially a big boy. He wasn't sure what to think about it. He usually covers the bathroom floor with water when he is in his infant tub but not today. There wasn't much kicking going on. He mainly looked at us in wonder. Britt wanted to get in with him but I told her not just yet.

Hello

Hello All. Not much going on with us but I thought I would post anyway. Brother is growing and Sister is getting herself in trouble. She is a little sassy. I wonder where she gets it from... We are all doing great. School, daycare and work are all about the same. I did look into housing and schools in Allen to see how it compared to Flower Mound in case we get moved at work and it actually surprised me. You can get A LOT more house for the money in Allen. And the schools seem to get better grades and the population is less. The taxes are a little higher though. Its definitely worth keeping in mind. Mandy (Kenzie) said we cant move. But I guess we will play it by ear and see where it takes us.

A Sister's Love...

Brother Did It!

We have 2 great news to share. First, Brother took a bath like a big boy this week. He has gotten so big and long that we had to take out the sling in his bath tub. He just sat up in there like a bog boy. Dad had to stay at his head to make sure he didn't topple over though. Brother thought it was great. He kicked and splashed and got the floor soaking wet. And, of course, he peed on Mom while in there. It's amazing how that thing can just shoot across the room.

Secondly, he rolled over yesterday!!!! Not all the way over, just over to his side. And he did it a few times. That is a great accomplishment. I don't think it will be long and he will be all the way over. He is getting so big so fast.

Yellow...

Britt got moved to yellow today. Guess what for... hugging her friend Cami in class. I think there is more to the story than she is letting on. She said she had a few warnings today but couldn't remember what for and I guess the last straw was the hug. So her teacher moved her card to yellow - which is like a major warning. I guess it could be worse - I can count on one hand how many times she has been moved since kindergarten.

And we have just about made it through our first week of working. I am dog tired. Since Wednesday morning I have cut more than 600 checks. Ya'll might have heard... Sam Adams is being recalled because a batch at the plant was found with glass in it. So Andrew's has decided to pull all the product out of the market and issue checks to the retailers. That's where I come in. I am issuing them as I receive the forms from the guys so they get pick up the beer by Friday so we can get fresh - non glassious beer - into the market early next week. One more day... I think I can make it! Other than that I think we have done good. Dad has got the kids off to school/daycare dressed, fed and in one piece. Good work team!

RE: First Day of Daycare

Thanks! It is called multi-tasking. I'd say you did very well, all things considered. No one died and everyone was on time - for the most part. I think we should get a morning check off list to help Britt stay on schedule and give her a few more tasks to help with. Maybe she can get Allie fed and watered in the morning so you can focus more on Aston. And she knows how to buckle him in his seat so you can always let her do that while you are taking Allie out.
Love the "see, smell" comment. That is so her. And I do have to say that just because it smells good, doesn't mean it is good.

And Brother was crying when we picked him up from daycare this afternoon. I think he was tired. As soon as we got in the car he was passed out. And he is still asleep. Looks like he ate a little irregular today but I guess he still came out with the same amount of ounces by the end of the day. His infant daily info sheet states as follows:

Mood: curious and happy
Ate: 6oz at 11:23 and 4oz at 1:55
Slept: 8:45 to 11:15 and 12:35 to 1:15

We will see what tomorrow brings!

Aston's first day of daycare

So I'm drying off from my shower this morning and notice that it's about 5 after 7. Naturally I'm thinking, "Great! I have plenty of time to get the kids ready and get everybody dropped off. And if things go well I'll even be early for work!" Boy was I wrong. Not that anything went badly - Brittney was an enormous help. It just took longer to get the dog fed, watered, and pottied, and to get Aston changed, dressed, and into his carseat.
I also had to make sure that Brittney brused her hair and teeth. I made her set the timer for the latter as she likes to rub a miniscule amount of toothpaste on her teeth and say that she's brushed them. "See, smell!", she says as she breathes in my face. Needless to say I won't fall for that one again.
Then to the car...all I have to say is God bless four dour vehicles. See, Aunt Lyn let me borrow her Camry (2-door) while my car is in the shop (which by the way Aunt Lyn, thank you very much). However, rear facing child seats and two door vehicles just don't mix so well. We finally managed it, and I think I dropped Brittney off at about 7:55 or so - only five minutes to spare. The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful after that. Aston was pretty sleepy so nothing really happened at daycare. I do have a picture of he and Brittney at the apartment right when we were finally ready to go. I'll post it later.
And after all was said and done, I got to work about half an hour after I normally do. I'm sure we'll get faster as the routine sets in, but I'd just like to say I don't know how mom's do it. Carrie, you're a much better juggler than I am.

Last Week!

Hi All,

Well... this is my last week home with Aston. April 7th I will be returning to work. :( I am trying to take advantage of this last week and get the house in order (clean) so next week's transition may be a little easier. Sometime this week we are going to the daycare to let them know he will be starting next week. Maybe he can meet some of his new friends. I remember the first day that I took Britt to daycare. The pouty bottom lip she gave me brought tears to my eyes. Hopefully this time will be a little easier. Wish us luck!

Easter

We went to church this morning for Easter. It was the first time in a long time. I think we all enjoyed ourselves. Hopefully we can make it a weekly thing. Granny, Papa, Lyn, Jason, me and the kids went. We put Brother in the nursery. It was the first time someone we didn't know took care of him. I was a little hesitant at first but they seemed really nice and gave us a pager in case they needed to get ahold of us. All went well. Maybe we can find Lyn a husband if she keeps attending with us!!

Here are a few pictures from yesterday's hunting and I will post today's later. Happy Easter All!

ASTON

Hi All Cope Fans,

Here is an update on Mr. Aston. He went to the Dr. last Friday to get his 2 month shots. I have to say he did not enjoy it too much. Dr. Peak changed his formula to a already digested formula that is suppose to help with his constipation and gas. All was well until about Tuesday when he wasn't feeling too good. I got him into the Dr. on Wednesday. He has been congested and not eating normal. The Dr. said that because of his spit up through his nose and mouth it is causing irritation. She has prescribed Zantac for him to take twice a day for the next 2 months - at least. At his 4 month check up we will reevaluate his digestive and spit up issues to see if he can be taken off. He has only been on the Zantac for 2 days now so it is hard to say if it is working but I he has only spit up twice since - which is good. The Dr. also switched him back to the Similac Sensitive formula. We will see how his stomach handles it - if he gets constipated again. She said if he does then we might need to switch him to Good Day which has more whey protein and I guess is easier on their stomachs.
We are doing good other than that. He weighs 11.6 pounds and is 24.5 inches long.

Oh, and he is eating too much. She has asked that we keep him around 3 ounces per feeding instead of the 4 ounces he has been eating. She said he is probably eating more than he needs because it feels good on his sore throat.
That's all for now. We will keep you updated on how he is feeling.
